A Two Legged Dog , Well sometimes anyway

Two Legged Dog, Authored by Marty Lain Wyatt
Introduction
When I was a young lad (about 2 years ago LOL) Just Kidding. I was actually about 25 years old I guess. On about all the weekends my uncle would come looking for me. Gosh he was a big old man (as wide as a doorway it seems) and was as stout as an Ox. I remember watching him load cross ties into a dump truck by himself. (Work always fascinated me, I could watch my uncle do it for hours
) But anyway all kidding aside, he would come visit about every Saturday or Sunday.
That is unless he didn’t have some kind of trade he was working on. He would pull up in the driveway, park and then blow his horn. He walked slowly around to the passenger side and open the passenger door and slide in. He would wait until I came outside and he would then “say come on I have to go to so and so and do blah blah blah”. Whenever I would tell him I had something I had to do and couldn’t go he would say “Well who’s gonna drive me around then?” and kinda giggle.
The Talking Woman
He could talk you into anything but it was always worth giving in to him. I remember once he said he found the talkingest woman in Kentucky and I had to go. Of course I had to go with him to see if it was for real. Sure enough she was. I don’t know how she breathed because there was no blank in her speech to catch a breath. When we pulled out she was talking to the tailgate until we were out of site. She did I watched her!
Back to the Dog
Anyway back to the dog, my uncle was looking to trade for an old pickup from some guy in one of the hollows at home. I ended up driving him, mostly from the curiosity of it. He said you are gonna see something that will make it worth the trip but he would never tell me what it was.
So we get to the guys house and my uncle went to wheeling and dealing and i listened to it all. The man asked us if we wanted some sweet tea. My only guess for the offer was that they had talked themselves dry. Both of us agreed to the freshment offer.
We were drinking the tea and the dealing began getting heavy. I just happened to look up at the porch and saw an old brown yard dog laying on the steps. The dog looked up and saw me about the time I looked.
Two Legged Dog
I turned my head back and starting to listen to the horse trading going on that my uncle was involved in. It was a short time later that I felt something rubbing against my pants. I turned to look and this dog had gently raised himself up onto his front legs and had walked over to where we were.
He had stopped for a minute to lean against my leg and was still standing on his front feet only. I assumed the lean was to rest his front legs for a second. He rested against me for a moment before walking and gently laid himself down at my uncles feet.
The kids in the yard then began to throw a ball and the dog would jump up on his front feet and go get the ball and bring it back. My Uncle winked and said “I told you it would be worth the trip”. That was one of those moments in my life that I wished I had a video camera with me to record the event for “America’s Funniest Videos”
